Minutes of the Meeting

October 9, 2008

Meeting began at 8:10 p.m.

The following officers were present:  Sue Guthrie (President), Ed Ridolph (Vice President), and Randy Humphrey (Treasurer).  Kim Kahant (Secretary) not present due to family illness. 16 members of the community attended.

Minutes from Previous Meeting:

Minutes of the previous meeting, September 25, 2008, were read by Ed Ridolph and accepted.

 Treasurer’s Report:

Randy Humphrey dispensed copies of the treasurer’s report to all members present and reviewed report.

 Old & New Business:

It was noted that deposits for the rental of the Civic Center are $150.00, while rentals are set at $200.00 for dues paying residents and $400.00 for all other.

Dave Stanley has set the date for the FG Golf Tournament at Lucerne Lakes for November 8th.  Dave will be in charge of the event.

There was a general discussion of the school bus stop at the Civic Center.  The school bus stop has been moved due to ongoing problems with students.  Sue Guthrie noted that vandalism has already occurred to the new marquee, and suggests that no trespassing signs be posted on the building.  Patti Burke will put a notice in the FG newsletter that anyone caught vandalizing the Civic Center will be prosecuted.

Matt Lacharite led a general discussion regarding lawn maintenance at the Civic Center.

It was decided to keep the present arrangement at $110.00 per month expense, if the maintenance can be done in a timely and satisfactory manner.

There was a lengthy and intense discussion regarding the new marquee in front of the Civic Center.  Sue Guthrie said the marquee apparently was not done according to our requirements and the specs we furnished the builder.  After much discussion and input from the residents present, it was decided that Bill Applegate would be authorized to contact the sign company and tell them that we would accept the sign if the Association would be credited $1000.00 to $1500.00 off the final cost.  The sign would be moved if necessary and placed in the proper location in front of the Civic Center, set in the ground and properly anchored, and pass all county codes.  Once all this is done to the complete satisfaction of the Civic Association, and not before then, final payment would be made.

Motion to accept:  David McConnell 1st, Sandy Mann 2nd, and the motion carried by majority vote.

It was decided that the annual FG BBQ/Spring Festival would be held at the Civic Center on Saturday, February 7, 2009.  Ed Ridolph will chair the event again.

The next homeowners meeting will be Thursday, November 13, 2008, at 8:00 p.m.

Motion to adjourn:  Devon Vaides 1st, Sandy Mann 2nd.

 Meeting adjourned at 9:05 p.m.

Minutes completed by:  Ed Ridolph, Vice President
